It is very important for debt collectors to only engage in proper practices when attempting to collect money from a consumer. If debt collectors engage in wrongful conduct, it can cause great harm to consumers. No consumer should have to be subjected to wrongful debt collection conduct.

Recently, a case has arisen in Pennsylvania involving debt collection. The case involves a man from Pennsylvania. According to the man, a debt collection agency attempted to collect a debt from him. The man claims that the agency engaged in wrongful conduct in its collection efforts.

The man alleges that the agency called his brother on multiple occasions. According to the man, these calls were made with the intent to harass, annoy and/or abuse the man and his brother. The man also claims that, over the course of these calls, the agency told the brother that the man owed a debt.

The man argues that the agency’s alleged conduct violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

The man has brought a lawsuit in a federal court in Pennsylvania against the debt collection agency in connection to these allegations. In his lawsuit, the man reportedly is asking for damages. It will be interesting to see what happens in this case and how it is ultimately resolved.

Consumers shouldn’t have to face wrongful debt collection conduct. Thus, one hopes that debt collectors are held accountable when they engage in conduct like that alleged in this case. One also hopes debt collection companies make sure to not engage in wrongful practices when attempting to collect a debt.
